For my family the holidays, as long as I can remember, have been a melding of traditional and non-traditional recipes, mainly because my family (and extended family) hail from different cultural roots.
Certainly, the thing that binds us together is our love of each other but also our love of food.
So, when folks ask me what my Christmas dinner menu consists of, I have to be honest and say multicultural. From Cuban, to German, to Croatian, to Mexican, to Italian, and more, it’s never the same from year to year, except for a few must-make recipes. And, that’s okay with me.
