Wow your kids by nestling a few of these sweet non-candy Easter basket stuffers alongside their favorite Easter candy this year.

Easter Stuffed Animals

If you’re worried about giving too much candy at Easter, why not nestle a few of these sweet non-candy Easter basket stuffers into your kid’s basket this year.

The truth is, kids love their chocolate, but they also enjoy getting trinkets and thoughtful playthings, too. The trick is to balance the sweets with these special trinkets.

As a parent, I try to be inventive with my Easter Basket Stuffers each year. I love the idea of chocolate bunnies and Peeps but I’ve also found other things to make my kids’ baskets special.

But before you purchase anything, first consider these few quick tips for choosing the best basket stuffers for your child:

Keep it age appropriate. Don’t buy something too small for kids under 3 years old – think choking hazard. And, you certainly wouldn’t buy an Easter teething ring for your 12 year old (just saying).

Buy something that they can use over time. Sure it’s great for kids to nibble on chocolates, but once it’s gone, it’s gone. Rather than put all of your chocolate eggs in one basket, so to speak, put in something extra to get them moving outside into the spring air.

Make it personal. Not everything has to be bought. For example, make a coupon book loaded with fun activities that you are willing to do with your child. This is certainly worth more than any purchased gift.

Make it sharable. If you have more than one child, give them something in their baskets that they can share with their siblings or friends, like a jump rope or a soccer ball.

Make it homemade. As mentioned above, not everything has to be purchased, like bubbles. Make a batch of my Homemade Bubbles recipe and give it away as a fantastic Easter basket stuffer.
