How to Make Best Egg Salad Recipe with Mayo and Dill

I think I’m a purist when it comes to the best Egg Salad recipe ever. Why? There’s no muss or fuss, just plain-Jane, eggs and mayo (or in my case, Miracle Whip), a couple of spices and herbs, and that’s it.

I know there are a number of egg salad variations and I have made many of them, too.

But, I think part of the joy of eating egg salad is to be able to taste the eggs, not just the added ingredients.

Now that being said, I have one special ingredient that also makes this recipe–the best. It’s dill. I love to add this because it brings a bit of “pop” and freshness to this dish.

Also, when you use this fresh herb, it somehow draws out the taste and flavors that takes this egg salad and kicks it up a notch (or two!).

The rest of the recipe is relatively simple.

To Make:

First, you’ll need hard boiled eggs. Here’s my favorite tried and true recipe: Easy Oven Baked Hard Boiled Eggs.

Next slice your hard boiled eggs.

…then dice your eggs. I prefer mine more chunky versus the smooth version.

Finally, it is just a matter of adding your favorite dressing. My dressing of choice is Miracle Whip, although I’ve also used mayo on occasions.

The secret is to not add too much dressing but just enough to cover the eggs lightly. Otherwise, it will overtake the eggs and make them mushy.

This is also the best time to add your freshly chopped dill.

And, if you have chive in your garden, why not top your egg salad with some edible chive flowers.

Chive, if you don’t know, tastes a bit garlicky but not too overpowering for the salad.

Cooking Tip: Pair my easy Egg Salad with ham over a slice toast for a delicious but hearty lunch or dinner.

Recommended Product – Egg Slicer

To make this egg salad quick and easy, be sure that you have an egg slicer. This handy device slices and dices with precision and something that you can use with other produce like kiwis, strawberries and cheese–to name a few.
