Easy Peach Palmer - 1 - Wisconsin Homemaker

Summer speaks of peaches, so what better way to celebrate this amazing fruit than with this delicious refreshing Easy Peach Palmer Recipe.

This drink recipe takes three ingredients and makes a beverage that has a distinctive peachy taste, along with lemon and tea overtones.

It’s the perfect party drink. It can be made ahead of time and served with either a pitcher or a beverage dispenser. This is especially great if you are hosting a party.

Story Behind the Arnold Palmer

Peach Palmer is actually a variation of the classic Arnold Palmer. It was created by famed golfer, Arnold Palmer, who needed a refreshing, non-alcoholic drink.

He requested the specific ingredients at a restaurant and a patron who overheard him, asked for the same drink. It was then that the Arnold Palmer recipe, we know and love took shape.

Here’s a video of the man himself talking about and making his namesake drink:

Sadly, Arnold Palmer passed away at the age of 87, September 25, 2016, but his legacy for this epically refreshing drink still thrives.

How to Make Peach Palmer Recipe

There’s no need to rush out to the grocery store to buy a bottle of premade Peach Palmer, when it’s so quick and easy to make it yourself with just a few ingredients.

To Make:

Note: This recipe makes 3 quarts of Peach Palmer.

For the Peach Juice

Start by cooking peaches for the peach juice. First, score the base of each peach (you’ll need six peaches for this recipe).

Easy Peach Palmer - score peaches

Place the peaches, along with a 1 cup of sugar in a quart of boiling water for one minute.

Easy Peach Palmer - poach peaches

Remove the peaches and place them in a bowl of ice. Peel, quarter and remove the pit. Then place the peaches back into the water and cook them for 10 minutes.

Once cooked, strain the peach liquid using a fine strainer and allow the liquid to cool in a pitcher.

Cooking Tip: The leftover peaches from making the peach juice can be placed back into the pitcher later when serving or you can serve them on vanilla ice cream.

For the Ice Tea

To make the ice tea use three (3) tea bags. Add a quart of ice water to the peach juice and allow the tea bags to steep for 15 minutes.

For this recipe I recommend Lipton Coldbrew Ice Tea Bags. They’re larger packets of ice tea and they steep great in cold water.

Cooking Tip: If you don’t have access to Lipton Coldbrew, then you can substitute with 4 regular tea bags, steeped in very hot–not boiling–water for 15 minutes. Remove tea bags and allow to cool before placing in pitcher with peach juice.

If you need to dunk the tea bags a couple of times to wet and allow them to sink into the liquid. Once steeped, squeeze out the tea bags and discard. Stir the peach-tea liquid.

Cooking Tip: For caffeine-free version, use decaffeinated tea bags instead.

For the Lemonade

While you are waiting for the tea to steep, make up a quart of lemonade. You can find the recipe for my Homemade Lemonade Recipe –> HERE.

Pitcher of Lemonade

You’ll need a quart of lemonade, so you’ll have to squeeze 6-8 lemons. Adjust the sugar to 1 cup to a quart of water.

To make this job easier, I suggest using either a citrus reamer or a Lemon Juicer.

Proctor Silex Lemon Juicer

Once you have your lemonade, mix this with the peach-tea liquid and stir well. Serve on ice.

Alcohol Version – Boozy Arnold Palmer

Some folks have named the Arnold Palmer that has alcohol added: Boozy. While other folks have named it a John Daly.

Regardless of what you call it, if you want to spike this drink with alcohol just add 1/2 cup of your beverage of choice: vodka, white rum, bourbon, or whiskey. Since I live in Wisconsin, brandy is the liquor of choice.

Recipe Variations

While this recipe is made with peach syrup, you can also make this recipe with other base ingredients.

Try these variations:
